🍗 Wednesday — Kindness Without Permission

I am Ayaan, and sometimes the most powerful stories come from the most ordinary moments.

A colleague once told me something that quietly stayed with me.

One of her friends had asked her to cook chicken for him when she returned from her hometown. And in her usual generous way, she did. Without hesitation. She cooked it, packed it carefully and carried it all the way back.

But life, as it tends to do, interrupted.

In the middle of everything, she realized she had to attend another function. She called him to coordinate — not to cancel, just to figure it out together.

He didn't try to find a solution.

He got angry. Called her careless. Self-centered. Said things that simply didn't need to be said.

She could have argued. She had every right to.

Instead, she quietly switched off her phone and went to the function, not out of spite, but because she needed a moment to let the anger pass without saying something she'd regret.

And the next day?

Calmly, without any drama, without holding it against him, she made sure the food reached him.

No argument. No ego. No "after everything I did."

Just completion.

The way she told that story stayed with me long after the conversation ended. Because what she did wasn't weakness. It wasn't people-pleasing either.

It was something rarer.

Kindness is not something you practice only when people deserve it.

It is something you carry within you, even when they don't.

— Ayaan | And I am still learning, one quiet act at a time. 🤍

The world will always have people who mistake your kindness for carelessness. Carry it anyway.

  1. Absolutely rightly said, Kindness is within! Intentions and Actions always play a BIG role.
